Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, October 5, 2022, shows a national average of 135.73 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per week, are Jombang (935 people), Karawang (920 people), Gresik (900 people), Jepara (875 people), and Bandung Barat (869 people).
Jombang ranks first, with 935 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 1.82 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Karawang, which tested 920 people per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 4.24 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Gresik recorded 900 tests per week, Jepara 875, and Bandung Barat 869.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 136 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 224 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Pekanbaru (844 people), Samarinda (743 people), and Bandar Lampung (653 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
