Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: Jakarta Records Highest Increase (Tuesday, February 21, 2023)

Indonesia today recorded an additional 272 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.73 million as of Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, and Central Java.

1. DKI Jakarta: 97 new cases

DKI Jakarta ranks first, with 97 new cases, a 0.01% increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 1.54 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.54 million.

Unfortunately, in addition to the high number of new cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded two deaths, bringing the total death toll during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta to 15,949. The seven-day positive rate is 2.37%, and the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at 4.58%.

2. West Java: 68 new cases

Next is West Java, with 68 new Covid-19 cases. The seven-day positive rate in this region is 1.34%. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 24.94 per week.
3. Banten: 35 new cases

4. East Java: 24 new cases
