Several districts/cities in North Maluku province still record quite low second-dose vaccination rates compared to other areas. Some of these districts/cities include South Halmahera Regency, West Halmahera Regency, and Sula Islands Regency.
As of yesterday, in the vaccination program, these three regencies have only completed 141,780 second doses out of the expected target of 367,500 vaccine recipients.
South Halmahera Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of yesterday, the second-dose vaccination rate in this region only reached 38.04%. This is the lowest compared to the other 10 districts/cities. Meanwhile, the first-dose vaccination has reached 87.21%, or 246,650 vaccine recipients.
The vaccination program in this regency targets 188,350 participants. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in South Halmahera last week was 203 participants. The remaining vaccine stock is currently recorded at 73,840 doses.
Next is West Halmahera Regency. For the second dose, this area has the second-lowest rate. With a target of 101,990 vaccine recipients, only 38.26% or 39,027 recipients have been vaccinated.
The first-dose vaccination has reached 69.2%, or 110,430 vaccine recipients. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in West Halmahera last week was 292 participants. The available vaccine stock is currently 18,081 doses.
Sula Islands Regency is ranked third. With a target of 77,153 vaccine recipients, only 40.31% or 31,101 recipients have received the second dose. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in Sula Islands last week was 59 participants. The remaining vaccine stock is currently recorded at 15,236 doses.
Regarding the provincial-level vaccination achievement, the total first-dose vaccination in North Maluku has reached 73.24%, or 1.04 million vaccine recipients. The second-dose vaccination has reached 44.05%, covering 624,520 vaccine recipients.
