The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Mamuju (990 specimens), Sukabumi (986 specimens), Ketapang (979 specimens), Padang Pariaman (966 specimens), and Singkawang City (961 specimens).
Mamuju ranks first. With a population of 306,140, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 990 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.21 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sukabumi. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 986 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.44 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Ketapang is recorded at 979 per week, 966 specimens per week in Padang Pariaman, and Singkawang City, with a population of 232,760, recorded 961 specimens examined per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 153 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report the daily number of specimens examined with higher figures than before. Meanwhile, 201 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Mamuju, Ketapang, and Padang Pariaman, with 990, 979, and 966 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
