The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali has been officially extended from today, Tuesday (26/1), until Monday (8/2). This is done considering that the number of Covid-19 coronavirus cases in Java and Bali remains quite high.
Based on data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force until Monday (25/1), coronavirus cases in Java and Bali totaled 671,203 people. Specifically, the highest number of coronavirus cases still originates from Jakarta, at 252,266 people.
West Java follows in second place with 127,398 coronavirus cases. After that are Central Java and East Java with 116,526 and 107,050 coronavirus cases respectively.
Coronavirus cases in Banten and Bali reached 24,436 and 23,798 respectively. Meanwhile, in Yogyakarta, coronavirus cases totaled 19,729.
The government continues to urge the public to implement the 3M movement (maintaining distance from crowds, wearing masks, and washing hands with soap) to break the chain of coronavirus transmission.
