Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 145 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, shows a national average of 132.31 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Deli Serdang, Indramayu, Klaten, West Bandung, and Demak, with weekly figures of 958, 949, 943, 912, and 911 people tested per week, respectively.
Deli Serdang ranks first, with 958 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 3.13 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Indramayu. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 949 people were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 2.21 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, Klaten recorded 943 tests per week, West Bandung 912, and Demak 911.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 177 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 181 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of weekly tests include Deli Serdang, Batam City, and Samarinda City, with 958, 876, and 802 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
