The United States has fully vaccinated 154.2 million of its population against the Covid-19 coronavirus as of Tuesday, June 29, 2021. 5.8 million of these vaccinations were administered to children.
Details show that 110,500 children under 12 years old have received the full coronavirus vaccination. 3.2 million children aged 12-15 years have received the full coronavirus vaccination. Meanwhile, 2.6 million children aged 16-17 years have received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children over 12 years old in mid-May 2021. Vaccination then began for this age group.
Other age groups are eligible to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. 10.9 million residents aged 18-24 years have received a full dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Similarly, almost 28 million residents aged 25-39 years have been fully vaccinated.
Other working-age residents who have been fully vaccinated include 20.1 million people aged 40-49 years and 37.6 million people aged 50-64 years. Furthermore, 39.8 million elderly people have also received the full vaccination.
In Indonesia, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) has also granted emergency use authorization for the Sinovac coronavirus vaccine for children aged 12-17 years. The vaccine will be administered in two doses, one month apart.
