As of Saturday, August 13, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 47.43 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Jayapura City, Mimika Regency, Surakarta City, and Semarang City, with ratios of 516.77 percent, 434.74 percent, 412.05 percent, 411.97 percent, and 329.53 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 516.77 percent. The latest positive rate is 5.05 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Jayapura City. The population of this region is recorded at 309,760. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 434.74 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 7.54 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Mimika Regency is recorded at 412.05 percent; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, has a weekly testing percentage of 411.97 percent; and Semarang City has a weekly testing percentage of 329.53 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 98 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 274 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Jayapura City, and Mimika Regency, with weekly testing percentages of 516.77 percent, 434.74 percent, and 412.05 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
