In terms of percentage, the top five countries with the highest increase in deaths are Slovakia, Malta, Spain, France, and Norway. The total deaths in these five countries as of Monday, June 20, 2022, amounted to 631, with weekly growth exceeding 20 percent.
Slovakia recorded the highest increase in deaths in Europe, with weekly growth reaching 41.67 percent. In this country, Worldometer recorded 17 deaths, a 6.25 percent increase compared to the previous day.
Followed by Malta with a weekly death growth of 33.33 percent. The number of deaths in this country was reported as four. Meanwhile, daily death statistics showed a 33.33% decrease compared to the previous day, which was six deaths.
Next, deaths in Spain increased by 21.74%, France with 290 deaths (up 20.33%), and Norway with 12 deaths (up 20%).
Meanwhile, looking at the number of death reports, the highest number of deaths in the last seven days in Europe occurred in Russia with 443 deaths. Death reports in this country decreased by 11.4% compared to the previous week. Next, from the largest number, Italy with 330 deaths (down 25.34%), Spain with 308 deaths (up 21.74%), deaths in France recorded 290, up 20.33%, and the UK with 282 deaths (down 24.8%).
Total deaths in Europe over the past seven days were recorded at 2,228. This figure accounts for 28.71 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 7,761. The death toll in Europe decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 2,930.
