The Ministry of Health recorded that 21,496,995 people in Indonesia had received two doses of the Covid-19 coronavirus vaccine as of Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 6:00 PM. This number is equivalent to 44.64% of the total recipients of the first dose, which amounted to 48,148,817 people.
The group that received the most Covid-19 vaccines was public officials. A total of 26,381 people, or 152.26% of the target, had received the first dose. Of this number, 12,199,820 people, or 70.41% of the target, had received the second dose.
Next, 14,299,135 vulnerable and general members of the public received the first dose, or 10.13% of the target. 4,594,135 of them, or 3.25% of the target, also received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The elderly group is also a priority of the government's vaccination program. The number of elderly people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine is 4,871,507 for the first dose and 3,218,316 for the second dose. These numbers only reach 22.60% and 14.93% of the target, respectively.
Health workers who have received the vaccine number 1,600,274 for the first dose and 1,462,171 for the second dose. These numbers reach 108.95% and 99.55% of the target, respectively.
Meanwhile, children aged 12-17 who have received the first dose only reached 996,200, or 3.73% of the target. Of this number, only 22,553 people, or 0.08% of the target, received the second dose. This is because child vaccination only began at the end of June 2021.
Although vaccination has been underway, the public is urged to remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. This is important to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
