The top five, starting from the highest, are Kutai Kartanegara, Kediri, West Bandung, Garut, and Sleman, with 960, 928, 915, 896, and 873 tests per week respectively.
Kutai Kartanegara ranks first. With a population of 802,710, the number of people tested in the last week was 960 per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Kediri. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested last week was 928 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.54 percent, which is lower than the previous week's percentage.
Then, West Bandung recorded 915 tests per week, Garut recorded 896 tests per week, and 873 tests per week were conducted.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests conducted last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 201 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests conducted last week include Kutai Kartanegara, Samarinda City, and Medan City, with 960, 844, and 805 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
