The 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (Survei Kesehatan Indonesia or SKI) from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) compiled the prevalence of heart disease in Indonesia last year.
Heart disease prevalence was calculated based on doctor's diagnoses in the entire population, expressed as a percentage.
The prevalence of heart disease in Indonesia reached 0.85% in 2023. The weighted sample size (N) was 877,531 people.
By province, Yogyakarta had the highest prevalence at 1.67%, with a weighted N of 11,757 people.
Second was Central Papua (Papua Tengah) with 1.65%, and a weighted N of 4,577 samples. Third was Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) at 1.56% with a weighted N of 33,552.
Fourth was West Java (Jawa Barat) with a prevalence of 1.18% and a very large weighted N of 156,977 people.
Fifth was East Kalimantan (Kalimantan Timur) with a prevalence of 1.08% and a weighted N of 12,360 people.
The remaining provinces include Bali, North Kalimantan, Riau Islands, East Java, and West Sumatra.
