Bekasi's air quality this morning is the worst in the Jabodetabek area, according to the Air Pollutant Standard Index (ISPU) data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). Bekasi's air quality index was recorded at 86 on Monday (18/12/2023) at 08.00 WIB.
Below Bekasi, Tangerang is second with an air quality index of 81. Tangerang Selatan is third with a score of 79.
For information, KLHK categorizes air quality based on the ISPU range as follows:
* 0-50: Good
* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
The air quality index or ISPU is monitored at 72 stations spread across 31 provinces. The air quality index calculation uses the results of measurements of air pollutant parameters, consisting of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), and hydrocarbons (HC).
This indicates that cities in Jabodetabek such as Bekasi, Tangerang, Tangerang Selatan, Depok, Central Jakarta, and Bogor have moderate air quality.
KLHK advises that everyone in areas with unhealthy air quality should reduce prolonged outdoor physical activity. Meanwhile, in areas with moderate air quality, everyone can still be active outdoors except for sensitive groups.
Everyone living in areas with very unhealthy and hazardous air quality should avoid all outdoor activities.
