Average Years of Schooling in Kapuas Hulu Regency Remains Below the National Average

The average years of schooling (AYS) for residents aged 25 and over in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, reached 7.82 years in 2023.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the AYS in this region is above the average for West Kalimantan Province, which reached 7.71 years in 2023.

The AYS for Kapuas Hulu residents increased by 0.23 years (3.03%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.59 years. Meanwhile, over the past five years, the AYS has increased by 0.57 years (7.86%).

This AYS indicates that the average resident of Kapuas Hulu only attends school up to the seventh grade. However, this AYS is still below the national average of 8.77 years in 2023.
