The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Sukoharjo (959 specimens), Pati (950 specimens), Gianyar (942 specimens), Sukabumi (904 specimens), and Bandung Barat (887 specimens).
Sukoharjo ranks first. With a population of 903,750, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 959 per week. The latest positive rate is 4.18 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Pati. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 950 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 8.58 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Gianyar recorded 942 specimens per week, Sukabumi recorded 904 specimens per week, and Bandung Barat recorded 887 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 140 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Gianyar, Tarakan City, and Sikka, with 942, 837, and 833 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
