New Zealand received recognition as the country best able to manage the Covid-19 pandemic. Up to November 23, 2020, the country only had two new cases per 100,000 population per month. The fatality rate was also suppressed to five deaths per million population. Overall, New Zealand achieved a Covid-19 resilience score of 85.4 points.
Furthermore, Indonesia is also included in Bloomberg's assessment. The country achieved a Covid-19 resilience score of 66.1 points, just below the United States. Access to the Covid-19 vaccine boosted Indonesia's score, as it was able to provide four brands. Overall, the total number of vaccine brands provided by other countries to their populations was a maximum of five.
Bloomberg compiled the Covid Resilience Ranking based on 10 metrics, ranging from case growth and death rates, testing capacity, and vaccine supply agreements. Bloomberg also considered the capacity of the local healthcare system, the economic impact of regional restrictions, and the freedom of movement for the public.
