The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force recorded that 38 regencies/cities in Indonesia still had low mask-wearing compliance rates during the period of October 11-17, 2021. This is because these 38 regions had mask-wearing compliance rates below 60%.
In fact, two regions had a 0% mask-wearing compliance rate: East Seram Regency and Bitung City.
Meanwhile, 45 regions had mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 61% to 75%. Furthermore, 92 regions had mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 76% to 90%.
Nevertheless, the majority of regions in Indonesia have high mask-wearing compliance rates. A total of 198 regencies/cities recorded mask-wearing compliance rates ranging from 91% to 100%.
The Covid-19 Task Force monitored mask-wearing compliance among 7.3 million people in Indonesia. 1.03 million points were monitored by officers, including airports, train stations, malls, offices, schools, tourist attractions, places of worship, and restaurants/cafes.
The use of masks, especially double-layered masks or N95 type masks, is crucial in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. In addition, the public is urged to maintain physical distancing and wash their hands with soap.
