Weekly Expenditure of North Bengkulu Regency Residents on Root Crops

In North Bengkulu Regency in 2023, per capita weekly expenditure on taro/keladi was Rp37.3. This represents a decrease compared to the previous year's expenditure of Rp48.93 per capita per week.

The five largest per capita weekly expenditures on tubers in North Bengkulu Regency, in descending order, were: potatoes Rp797.2, cassava Rp559.04, sweet potatoes Rp414.32, taro/keladi Rp37.3, and other tubers Rp2.58.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of goods, and is limited to household expenses only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.38 million per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 25.36% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.1 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on taro/keladi was in Pegunungan Bintang Regency, and the lowest was in Langsa City. North Bengkulu Regency ranked 369th in terms of per capita expenditure on taro/keladi. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on taro/keladi is Rp253.
