The top five, starting from the highest, are Gresik, Kupang City, Karawang, Cirebon City, and Badung, with weekly specimen numbers of 971, 919, 867, 860, and 852, respectively.
Gresik ranks first, with 971 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.38 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kupang City. This region has a population of 481,270. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 919 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Karawang recorded 867 specimens examined per week, Cirebon City recorded 860 specimens per week, and Badung recorded 852 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, seven regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 13 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Kupang City, Badung, and Bandar Lampung City, with 919, 852, and 709 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
