The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 112 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.12 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, November 13, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with Covid-19 death rates exceeding 1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week are Mahakam Ulu (3.73 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tana Tidung (3.25 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Prabumulih City (2.54 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tomohon City (1.81 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Kulon Progo (1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Nine districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death tolls than previously, while seven districts/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Mahakam Ulu (3.73 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tana Tidung (3.25 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Prabumulih City (2.54 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
