Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 144 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Saturday, February 25, 2023, shows a national average of 102.65 tests per week.
The top five cities with the highest number of tests per week are Bogor, Kediri, Karawang, Sleman, and Cirebon, with 988, 971, 821, 818, and 811 tests per week, respectively.
Bogor City ranks first, with 988 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 1.72 percent, lower than the previous week.
Kediri follows, with 971 tests per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 0.51 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Karawang recorded 821 tests per week, while Sleman and Cirebon recorded 818 and 811 tests per week, respectively.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, the national Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 42 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Conversely, 45 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, cities with the highest number of tests per week include Makassar (768 tests), Medan (756 tests), and Pekanbaru (686 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
