The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that there were 489 hotels spread across East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in 2022. This is an increase of two units from 2021, which had 487 units.
Ende and West Manggarai Regencies had the highest number of hotels in NTT last year, each with 85 units, accounting for 17.38% of the total hotels in the province.
Next, there are 57 hotel units spread across Kupang City. Following this are Ngada and Manggarai Regencies, each with 34 hotel units.
Conversely, the lowest number of hotels in NTT in 2022 was in Central Sumba Regency, with only 1 unit. This was followed by Sabu Raijua and Kupang Regencies, each with 3 units.

Indonesia is hosting the ASEAN Summit 2023 in Labuan Bajo, NTT, from May 9-11, 2023. This event is expected to boost tourism in NTT, particularly the hotel industry, which suffered during the early stages of the pandemic.
