The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 77 districts/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, August 14, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 exceeding 0.82 per 100,000 population per week are Barito Selatan (1.42 per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 per 100,000 population per week), Tanjung Pinang City (0.91 per 100,000 population per week), Bengkulu Tengah (0.86 per 100,000 population per week), and Magelang City (0.82 per 100,000 population per week).
National COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most districts/cities outside Java. Five districts/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate than before, while four districts/cities recorded a lower agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 include Barito Selatan (1.42 per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 per 100,000 population per week), and Tanjung Pinang City (0.91 per 100,000 population per week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
