COVID-19-Related Deaths Among Healthcare Workers Continue to Decline

COVID-19 reports indicate that 2,032 healthcare workers died from the coronavirus by September 2021. However, the trend of healthcare worker deaths has been decreasing over the past two months.

The highest number of healthcare worker deaths was recorded in July 2021, at 502 individuals. This high death toll coincided with the surge in coronavirus cases domestically that month.

As the rate of coronavirus cases decreased in August 2021, the number of healthcare workers dying from the virus also decreased. COVID-19 reports recorded 145 healthcare worker deaths in August 2021.

This number continued to decline last month. In September 2021, only seven healthcare workers died from the coronavirus.

Although the number of fallen healthcare workers is decreasing, each life is invaluable. Therefore, efforts must be made to prevent further coronavirus deaths.

One way to prevent coronavirus transmission is through disciplined adherence to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is urged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds.
