Based on national Covid-19 data, 139 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Monday, November 21, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 0.47 people per 1,000 population per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Badung, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta, with testing rates of 6.39, 6.29, 5.28, 4.48, and 4.42 people per 1,000 population per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first, with a testing rate of 6.39 people per 1,000 population per week. The latest positive rate is 26.87 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the testing rate was 6.29 people per 1,000 population per week. The positive rate was 30.08 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Badung had a testing rate of 5.28 people per 1,000 population per week, West Jakarta 4.48, and East Jakarta 4.42.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 135 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 151 other regencies/cities reported lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest testing rates include Badung (5.28 people), Balikpapan (4.17 people), and Mimika (2.02 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
