Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest National Inpatient Utilization (Wednesday, February 22, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 29 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 0.39 patients per 100,000 population/week (data as of Wednesday, February 22, 2023).

The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding 1.02 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Madiun City, Blitar City, Tarakan City, Blitar Regency, and Kediri City, with respective values of 2.24, 2.06, 1.47, 1.11, and 1.02 patients per 100,000 population/week.

A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Higher-than-previous daily inpatient use was recorded in two regencies/cities, while three regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.

Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Tarakan City, Barito Utara Regency, and Mempawah Regency, with inpatient use rates of 1.47, 0.75, and 0.74 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
