Settlements were the most frequently dispersed locations of crowds during the micro-scale Community Activity Restriction Enforcement (PPKM). Based on data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force up to June 27, 2021, 21,374 such locations were dispersed due to causing crowds.
Second place was occupied by public roads, with 17,433 such locations causing crowds and subsequently being dispersed. Then, crowds in 7,763 markets were also dispersed.
Crowd dispersal also occurred in 4,536 restaurants/cafes, 3,957 stalls/shops, 3,147 food stalls, 1,223 public sports venues, 1,213 neighborhood watch posts, and 650 places of worship. In addition, crowd dispersal occurred in 9,154 other locations.
The types of crowds considered violations of health protocols included weddings, meetings, gatherings, religious studies/lectures, traditional celebrations, tahlilan (religious mourning ceremonies), and birthday celebrations. For these various crowd activities, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force also issued 4.5 million verbal disciplinary sanctions, 814,600 social disciplinary sanctions, 621,600 written disciplinary sanctions, and 203,100 fines.
Crowds can increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Therefore, the public is urged to avoid such locations. Furthermore, the public is urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
