The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded that 69,194,539 people in Indonesia had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 12:00 PM. Of this number, 39,721,571 people had also received their second dose, and 737,337 people had received a third dose.
However, first-dose vaccinations nationwide only cover 33.22% of the target of 208,265,720 people. Coverage is also only 19.07% of the target for the second dose.
1,663,258 health workers have received one dose of the corona vaccine, or 113.24% of the target. 1,542,804 health workers, or 105.04% of the target, have received the second dose. 737,337 people, or 50.20% of the target, have received a third dose.
Among public officials, 38,249,820 people, or 220.75% of the target, have received the first dose. 20,738,222 public officials, or 119.69% of the target, have received the second dose.
5,470,628 elderly people have received the first dose of the vaccine, and 3,901,679 have received the second dose. However, these numbers represent only 25.38% and 18.10% of the target, respectively.
20,098,350 people from the general public, or 14.23% of the target, have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. 10,968,405 people, or 7.77% of the target, have also received the second dose.
2,841,821 children aged 12-17 have received the first dose, or 10.64% of the target. Meanwhile, 1,975,553 children aged 12-17 have received two doses of the vaccine, or 7.40% of the target.
The gotong royong (community-based) vaccination program has vaccinated 865,664 people, or 5.77% of the target, for the first dose. The second dose through this program has been administered to 593,545 people, or 3.96% of the target.
Vaccination is important to reduce the risk of death and illness from corona. Therefore, the public is urged to participate in the ongoing vaccination program. In addition, the public needs to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
