The top five, starting from the highest, are Malang, Jepara, Sukoharjo, Kendal, and Pekanbaru City, with respective weekly figures of 964, 945, 929, 893, and 889 tests per week.
Malang ranks first, with 964 tests per week conducted in the last week. The latest positive rate is 20.44 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Jepara, which conducted 945 tests per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 7.2 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week.
Sukoharjo recorded 929 tests per week, Kendal 893 tests per week, and Pekanbaru City 889 tests per week for Covid-19 testing in the last week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 162 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests conducted in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 179 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests conducted in the last week compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of tests conducted last week include Pekanbaru City, Batam City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 889, 832, and 779 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
