The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in West Kalimantan currently occurred in Bengkayang, with 20.59 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Saturday, October 9, 2021. This figure is more than double the number of cases in the second-highest region.
Over the past week, the Covid-19 transmission situation in Bengkayang has not shown improvement. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 19.83 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Next in second place is Sambas. This region recorded 7 weekly confirmed cases per 100,000 population. Compared to last week's 12.53 cases, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases this week is lower.
Rounding out the top five, in addition to the two regions mentioned above, are Landak, Pontianak City, and Sintang. Each recorded 7, 6, and 6 weekly confirmed cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Mempawah, Ketapang, Sanggau, and Sekadau. These regions recorded an average increase of more than two cases per 100,000 population.
Other information from today's daily Covid-19 statistics is that 126 regencies/cities in Indonesia recorded a higher increase compared to last week, and 327 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly confirmed cases than the previous week.
