As of Friday, March 17, 2023, 68.55 million doses of COVID-19 booster vaccines have been administered in Indonesia. This represents 37.76% of the national vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. According to the Ministry of Health, only 20 booster doses were administered nationwide on the previous day.
West Java has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationally, with 15.46 million doses administered. Within West Java, Bogor Regency has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.59 million doses, followed by Bandung Regency (1.1 million), Bekasi City (979,480), Bekasi Regency (967,020), Cianjur Regency (912,290), and Bandung City (896,290).
East Java is second, with 9.34 million booster doses administered. Surabaya City has the highest number of recipients within East Java, with 1.3 million doses.
Central Java is third, with 8.53 million booster doses administered. This is followed by DKI Jakarta (5.33 million doses), North Sumatra (4.19 million doses), and Banten (2.99 million doses).
