Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, shows a national average of 132.12 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Klaten (957 people), Batam City (920 people), Samarinda City (920 people), Kudus (916 people), and Purwakarta (902 people).
Klaten ranks first, with 957 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 9.2 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Batam City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 920 people were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 10.33 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, Samarinda City recorded 920 Covid-19 tests per week; Kudus, with a population of 893,350, recorded 916 tests per week; and Purwakarta recorded 902 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 164 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily over the past week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 187 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested over the past week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested per week include Batam City, Samarinda City, and Kubu Raya, with 920, 920, and 677 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
