Based on national Covid-19 data, 161 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Friday, March 25, 2022, shows a national average of 1.92 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Badung, Central Jakarta, Sukabumi, and Balikpapan, with 14.92, 14.35, 14.14, 13.87, and 10.66 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first, with 14.92 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 4.67 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 14.35 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 1.94 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in Central Jakarta recorded 14.14 per 1,000 people per week, Sukabumi recorded 13.87, and Balikpapan recorded 10.66.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 165 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 204 regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Badung (14.35 tests per 1,000 people per week), Balikpapan (10.66), and Bontang (9.76).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
