Based on national Covid-19 data, 162 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data from the week of August 28, 2022, shows a national average of 168.64 tests per week.
The top five cities with the highest number of tests per week are Bandar Lampung, Sukabumi, Jepara, Cimahi, and Mimika, with 981, 971, 948, 907, and 902 tests per week, respectively.
Bandar Lampung ranks first, with 981 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 6.63 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Sukabumi is next, with a population of 331,750. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 971 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate is 3.91 percent, an increase from the previous week.
The number of tests conducted in Jepara, Cimahi, and Mimika in the last week were 948, 907, and 902, respectively.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 175 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Conversely, 181 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, cities with the highest number of tests per week include Bandar Lampung (981 tests), Mimika (902 tests), and Padang (822 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
