The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 114 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.1 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 1.2 per 100,000 population per week, are Mahakam Ulu (3.73 per 100,000 population per week), Tomohon City (1.81 per 100,000 population per week), Prabumulih City (1.52 per 100,000 population per week), Karimun (1.25 per 100,000 population per week), and Tegal City (1.2 per 100,000 population per week).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. However, 13 regencies/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while 16 regencies/cities recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Mahakam Ulu (3.73 per 100,000 population per week), Tomohon City (1.81 per 100,000 population per week), and Prabumulih City (1.52 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
