To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 152 districts/cities are currently aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Monday, December 5, 2022, shows a national average of 156.37 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Cimahi, Jepara, Bantul, Serang, and Pasuruan cities, with 977, 961, 959, 932, and 931 tests per week respectively.
Cimahi city ranks first. With a population of 610,490, the number of people tested in the last week was 977 per week. The latest positive rate is 14.43 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Jepara. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 961 per week. The positive rate in this region is 3.02 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Covid-19 tests in Bantul in the last week recorded 959 per week, Serang recorded 932 per week, and Pasuruan recorded 931 tests per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 247 districts/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 132 other districts/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Mimika, Palangkaraya city, and Kupang city, with 835, 820, and 724 people tested in the last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
