Ipsos conducted research on global public concerns. The results show that inflation is the top concern for a majority of respondents, with 32% citing it as their primary worry.
This research indicates that the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer the biggest concern for the global population.
Concerns about inflation have steadily increased from July 2020 to April 2022. The April 2022 surge was the highest recorded, a 6-point jump compared to March 2022.
The most significant increases in inflation-related concerns were observed in Spain (up 21 points), Chile and Peru (both up 14 points), Hungary (up 13 points), and the Netherlands (up 10 points).
Besides inflation, global concerns also include poverty and social inequality, reflected in 31% of respondent responses. Unemployment is the third biggest concern globally (29%).
This survey was conducted from March 25th to April 3rd, 2022, across 28 countries. Data was collected through online interviews.
