Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 156 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Saturday, November 26, 2022, shows a national average of 139.46 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Sumenep, Mataram City, Kediri City, Metro City, and Padang City, with weekly specimen numbers of 964, 960, 888, 860, and 853, respectively.
Sumenep ranks first, with 964 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 3.82 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mataram City, with a population of 527,540. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 960 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 8.89 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Following is Kediri City, with a population of 292,930, and 888 specimens examined per week; Metro City with 860 specimens examined per week; and Padang City, with a population of 997,360, and 853 specimens examined per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 132 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 154 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Mataram City (960 specimens), Metro City (860 specimens), and Padang City (853 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
