As of Monday, August 22, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 24.44 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Sukabumi City, Surakarta City, Semarang City, and Fakfak Regency, with ratios of 430.75 percent, 310.03 percent, 292.66 percent, 270.53 percent, and 230.95 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 430.75 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.47 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sukabumi City. The population in this region is recorded at 331,750. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 310.03 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.86 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Surakarta City recorded 292.66 percent testing, Semarang City recorded 270.53 percent, and Fakfak Regency recorded 230.95 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 156 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 209 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Fakfak Regency, and Sikka Regency, with weekly testing percentages of 430.75 percent, 230.95 percent, and 209.63 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
