The Jakarta Provincial Health Office (Dinkes DKI Jakarta) recorded 2,745 cases of dengue fever (DBD) in the capital city from January to June 2023.
"Reporting DBD data for DKI Jakarta as of July 10, 2023. Total cases: 2,745," said Ngabila Salama, Head of Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Immunization Section at Dinkes DKI Jakarta, as reported by *Detik.com* on Monday (July 17, 2023).
From January to June 2023, Dinkes DKI Jakarta reported that the highest number of DBD cases occurred in January, reaching 525 cases.
East Jakarta had the highest number of DBD cases in DKI Jakarta, with 689 cases. West Jakarta followed with 669 cases, then South Jakarta with 577 cases.
The Thousand Islands had the lowest number of DBD cases, with only one case recorded until June 2023.
"DBD is an endemic disease that continues to exist and persist in Jakarta. It has a similar pattern of cases each year, increasing each December, peaking in April, and then declining again," explained Ngabila.
The following is the distribution of DBD cases in DKI Jakarta during the first half of 2023:
* East Jakarta: 689 cases
* West Jakarta: 669 cases
* South Jakarta: 577 cases
* North Jakarta: 563 cases
* Central Jakarta: 246 cases
* North Jakarta: 563 cases
* Thousand Islands: 1 case
Dinkes DKI Jakarta also explained that efforts to control infectious diseases have been carried out through several preventive measures. One of these is campaigning for a clean and healthy lifestyle.
