The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread globally, reaching 5.82 million cases by Wednesday, November 9, 2022. The United States ranks first, with weekly Omicron cases growing by 1.1 percent. GISAID recorded 1.9 million Omicron cases in the country. Daily cases in this region increased by 0.35 percent compared to the previous day.
The United Kingdom follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, the number of Omicron cases in the country grew by 0.5 percent. Daily data shows a 0.02 percent increase in Omicron cases compared to the previous day, totaling 1.33 million.
Next, the number of Omicron cases in Germany increased by 1.1 percent to 470,710 compared to the previous week, Denmark with 316,360 cases (up 1.57%), and France with 297,600 cases (up 1.68%).
Meanwhile, the number of Omicron cases in Indonesia reached 26,227, a 0.24 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since it was first monitored, Omicron cases in Indonesia have continued to rise.
