In November 2022, the Ministry of Health declared a polio outbreak (KLB) after a child with polio was found in Pidie Regency, Aceh.
One of the risk factors in this polio case is the low immunization coverage in Aceh. In 2021, only about 51% of infants under one year old in Aceh had received the polio vaccine.
