The top five, starting from the highest, are Jombang, Pasuruan, Bandar Lampung City, Yogyakarta City, and Sragen, with 997, 995, 985, 982, and 973 people tested per week, respectively.
Jombang is ranked first. The number of people tested in the last week was 997 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.1 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Pasuruan. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 995 per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.5 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week.
Furthermore, the number of people tested in the last week in Bandar Lampung City was 985 per week, in Yogyakarta City 982 per week, and in Sragen 973 per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 237 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 143 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Bandar Lampung City, Kupang City, and Jayapura City, with 985, 913, and 869 people tested in the last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
