COVID-19 Cases Increase by 1,831 (Thursday, October 6)

Confirmed Covid-19 cases increased by 1,831 people as of October 6, 2022. With this addition, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 6,441,123.

Meanwhile, 6,265,899 patients have been declared recovered, and 158,177 have died.

The government urges the public to more actively implement health protocols as the spread of the Omicron variant in Indonesia increases. With this variant, the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia is feared to become even more widespread and difficult to contain. This is despite the fact that the positive rate had decreased in most regions earlier this year.

Previously, during the first wave of Covid-19 last year, the highest daily increase in cases was recorded on July 15, 2021, at 56,757 cases. With the emergence of the Omicron variant, this record was then broken twice in February, with an increase of 57,049 cases on February 15 and 64,718 cases on February 16.
