Based on national Covid-19 data, 164 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Monday, March 28, 2022, shows a national average of 1.83 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are South Jakarta (14.68 people), Badung (14.35 people), Central Jakarta (13.11 people), Balikpapan (10.5 people), and Sukabumi (9.63 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 14.68 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 3.89 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 14.35 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 1.67 percent, also down from the previous week.
Central Jakarta recorded 13.11 tests per 1,000 people per week; Balikpapan, 10.5 tests per 1,000 people per week; and Sukabumi, with a population of 331,750, recorded 9.63 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 133 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher daily number of tests than before. Meanwhile, 236 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Badung (14.35 tests), Balikpapan (10.5 tests), and Bontang (9.52 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
