Based on national Covid-19 data, 140 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Saturday, November 26, 2022, the national average was 6.89 percent. This achievement is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly testing percentage, are Purwakarta (155.27%), Semarang (107.1%), Sikka (86.96%), Balikpapan City (80.57%), and Ciamis (76.19%).
Purwakarta ranks first. With a population of 960,820, its weekly testing percentage is recorded at 155.27 percent. The latest positive rate is 6.04 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Semarang. In its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, its weekly testing percentage reached 107.1 percent. The positive rate in this region is 3.61 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Sikka is 86.96 percent, 80.57 percent in Balikpapan City, and 76.19 percent in Ciamis.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 163 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 179 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Sikka (86.96%), Balikpapan City (80.57%), and Badung (55.41%).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
