The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Medan City (997 specimens), Denpasar City (957 specimens), Garut (940 specimens), Cirebon City (801 specimens), and Gresik (795 specimens).
Medan City ranks first, with 997 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.13 percent, lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Denpasar City. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 957 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.2 percent, higher than the previous week's ratio.
Specimen examinations in Garut totaled 940 per week, Cirebon City 801 per week, and Gresik 795 per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 71 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 101 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Medan City, Denpasar City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 997, 957, and 761 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
