The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 40 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.02 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, May 9, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 exceeding 0.62 per 100,000 population per week are Sumba Barat, Ponorogo, Karanganyar, Boyolali, and Klaten, with respective rates of 0.74, 0.68, 0.62, 0.62, and 0.62 per 100,000 population per week.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. However, five regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while nine regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Sumba Barat, Tebing Tinggi City, and Siak, with rates of 0.74, 0.59, and 0.39 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
