Based on national Covid-19 data, 162 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Wednesday, March 23, 2022, shows a national average of 2.01 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five areas with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week are: South Jakarta City (15.18 people), Badung (14.53 people), Sukabumi City (14.34 people), Central Jakarta City (14.13 people), and Blitar City (12.35 people).
South Jakarta City ranks first, with 15.18 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 5.09 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 14.53 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 2.11 percent, also down from the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in Sukabumi City recorded 14.34 per 1,000 people per week, Central Jakarta City recorded 14.13, and Blitar City recorded 12.35.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact, national Covid-19 data shows 98 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Conversely, 274 regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Badung (14.53 people), Balikpapan City (11.09 people), and Bontang City (10.29 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
