The Indonesian Ministry of Health's National Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) shows that the prevalence of stunting among toddlers in Gorontalo reached 23.8% in 2022. This province ranked 17th highest nationally.
Gorontalo successfully reduced the stunting rate by 5.2 percentage points from the previous year. In 2021, the prevalence of stunting among toddlers in this province was recorded at 29%.
However, three regencies/cities still have a prevalence of stunting above the provincial average. The remaining three regencies have rates below the average prevalence of stunting in Gorontalo.
Gorontalo Regency had the highest prevalence of stunting in Gorontalo in 2022, reaching 30.8%. This figure increased by 2.5 percentage points from the 28.3% prevalence in 2021.
Next, Boalemo Regency ranked second with the highest prevalence of stunting in Gorontalo at 29.9%, followed by North Gorontalo Regency in third place at 29.3%.
Pohuwato Regency had the lowest prevalence of stunting in Gorontalo, at only 6.4%. It was followed by Gorontalo City with a stunting prevalence of 19.1%.
